Akron has been renovating the downtown area to expand the park space around the old canal locks. There are a bunch of cherry trees, and they have started holding a cherry blossom festival when they are in bloom.
I went to see them with Jessica, as well as the daffodil walk in Furnace Run Metro Park.

Some neat clouds

We got lunch at the mustard seed cafe

Finally arrived at the park. We started by walking along the canal.

There was an indoor event where a professional sake brewer talked about sake for awhile. There were also samples, though neither Jessica and I had any. It was a bit silly, since the entire point of the talk was learning about the different varieties of sake, and how they are brewed.
After it started to get dark, we went for another short walk to see the lights at night

It's really cool what Akron is doing with this area, and I look forward to seeing what all they do with it when it's finished.
