I went to the Asian Lantern Festival, hosted in the Cleveland Zoo.  I went alone this time, since it was on such short notice.

before taking a walk around the zoo, I had a quick snack. A strawberry cream donut and a lavendar italian soda.

flamingo
The Corpse flower, though it was no longer stinky.

The main loop of the zoo was open, and several of the animals were still out, so I decided to walk around the zoo twice: once to see the animals, and then a again after it got dark to see the lanterns in all their illuminated glory.

Are you feeling enriched yet?
Lots of pretty gardens about
...I like bridges, ok?
I'm glad I decided to bring the zoom lens. This was the first time I used it.

I wasn't able to get a good picture of the wolf, but I did get to see it play for awhile, which was super cute. He had the zoomies!

HONK

After walking around, I decided to get some food and wait for nightfall. There were a couple asian food stalls, and I decided to bite the bullet and wait in line.

I got a matcha milk bubble tea, and a orange chicken rice bowl. Both were pretty good, though the straw broke in half while drinking the tea, and I had to get another one. The bubbles were too powerfull, I guess.

The sun was setting, so it was time for round 2 around the zoo.

Overall, the various installations looked a lot nicer at night, as I expected they would.

GIANT ENEMY CRAB AAAAH
Attack it's weak point for massive damage!
Elden Ring flash backs
Just keep swimming!
Relaxation and bees are natural allies...
The mighty hypnotoad
Cool kaleidoscope thing. I was too awkward to go in though.
The most dangerous creature in the park.

There was also a cool mister thing. I really wanted to go in, but it would probably be a bad idea with a camera.

Don't trust anything he says, he's super stoned
There were various live performances all evening. I didn't watch any though

And thus concludes my adventures at the Asian Lanter Festival.

It was pretty lit.
