Cleveland Game Devs had their monthly social meetup and playtest night at the Dealership in Shaker Heights. Jackson invited several of us to meet up for dinner beforehand, and we decided on a nearby taco store because it had alcohol.
I had thought I would be one of the last to arrive based on the estimate from google, but I ended up arriving close to the same time as Bobby. We got our food and talked for awhile while waiting for everyone else to arrive.
Jackson joined the fight before too long, and then we learned that Steven had gone to the wrong taco store. When he eventually arrived, we clowned on him for awhile for that, even though it was my first time meeting him.
After Jackson and Steven arrived, we had some Tres Leches cake, which was like cake soaked in milk. very tasty.

After talking for awhile we headed to the dealership for the social meetup and playtest. I didn't bring anything this time, and was planning on looking at what other people had brought.

There was a pretty good crowd this time. After some small talk and introductions, Wally arrived with his tech in tow, and him and a few others set up to show their games. Shinobi drop was a hit, and gathered a pretty big crowd of people wanting to play 2v2. Brian also setup nearby, showing his current progress on Tinsel Fly.

Nearby, Bobby was doing some playtesting for his board game. I missed the initial explanation of the rules, but decided to join in a game. The game involves drawing cards do build up your character and lair, in order to invade other player's lairs and repel them from your own. I lucked into a pretty strong combination of room that allowed for 2 goblin monsters to be present, and then another room that added it's monster to the previous room, resulting in 3 goblins in a room, which resulted in like 10 attack / defence die rolls.

As the evening was winding down, I also talked to Jackson and Anthony Roundtree for awhile about Anthony's game, a 3D-ish JRPG, and about fighting and Jackson's game dev journey.

We also had another round of fighting games with Wally

At this point, it was getting pretty late, so we all went our seperate ways.
10/10 games are fun, and the tacos were pretty tasty.
