Brian invited several of his friends to watch a screening of the 1984 David Lynch Dune movie, in preparation for the release of Denis Villeneuve Dune Part 2 release.

The movie felt like a 2 hours trailer; just a montage of dramatic moments held together with a bunch of lore terminology that was never explained. In many ways, It was probably a lot more true to the book than later renditions, but just didn't have the time or budget to realize the story it was trying to depict.
It was definitely interesting seeing how they worked around the technical limitations of the time, though.
After the movie, we met up at a nearby fancy restaurant to discuss the movie and other topics, and I tried filet mignon for the first time. It was unironically the best steak I have ever had.
