Today we took the bullet train to Hiroshima. The train was amazing, incredibly fast but inside you could barely tell you were moving at all.

The first thing we did in Hiroshima was look for food. We ended up asking a local, which randomly turned out to be a worker at an Okonomiyaki restaurant. She took us to a random elevator, which brought us to a small restaurant in the upper floors of a building.
Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki is a bit different from whats served in other places, and is considered a specialty dish in the area.
It was probably the best thing I have eaten in my life.

11/10 one of the best food I have eaten. Alena agrees

After eating, we went to the Hiroshima Peace park, which is dedicated to spreading awareness of nuclear weapons, and advocates for nuclear disarmament.
The park is located right at the epicenter of where the bomb was dropped. The park was full of string of paper cranes, which symbolize peace, as well as numerous statues.

There is a build which is located right under where the bomb detonated, that was miraculously still standing, and still stands to this day.

Eternal Flame

It's sobering, but the area is infused with an air of optimism, with the shared goal of working towards a better world.
That evening, we stayed at a hostel in Miyajimaguchi, which is across the bay from Miyajima, which is the destination for tomorrow.
At the hostel, Alena had to explain to me that the sheet apparently goes on the blanket, not the mattress.
