We spent our second day in Kyoto going on a tour of several templates.

Fushimi Inari-taisha

We went back to the Fushimi inari shrine to explore a bit more

We also explored some more of the surrounding area

Kiyomizu-dera

a shrine build into the side of a hill, and held up with an impressive structure of beams.

There was another part of the shrine that was under construction, as well as a side area where you could get a view of the temple from the other side of the valley.

We took a break from temples, and sat by the river.

We had lunch at a traditional ramen shop, which was delicious. Afterward, we sat by the street and watched a parade, which was a celebration of the various Japanese tribes and their traditional clothes.

Kinkaku-ji

After the parade, we took a bus to the next shrine: Kinkaku-ji, which is a shrine with a gold painted exterior.

We realized that Moms phone was missing, and had a minor crisis, trying to retrace our steps.

feeling stressed

We realized that the most likely time she might have lost it was during the parade, so we went back to the street to see if maybe someone from the ramen shop had seen it, and after arriving, we saw it was just sitting on the curb, right where it had been left.

Japan is a pretty nice place.
