Another day spent exploring Reykjavik. Today we decided to go to the Maritime Museum, to look at look at boats and stuff.
I got up in the a bit earlier than the others, so I spent some time in the lobby working on creating the first 3 days blog posts.

After Wally and Jackson were awake and human, we set out for the city once again, with the plan of giving the public transit another shot. I had downloaded the app and set up payment info so we should be able to actually pay for our bus ticket this time.
The plan was mostly a success. I was able to pay for the tickets, but it takes a long time for the tickets to be "activated" so it's best to purchase and activate them ahead of time, instead of when you are trying to scan them in line.

First we headed to a currency exchange in order to acquire some paper money, just in case there was a situation where our card didn't work. Jackson and I haven't had a problem with it, but Wally's has been rejected a couple times.
We stopped at a small grocery store to get something to drink and buy anti-callus band-aids. I also grabbed some "Icelandic Midnight Sun", which are chocolate, caramel, and licorice in a candy shell.
They turned out to be extremely tasty. 10/10

We set out to find some lunch, and walked through a different part of town than we did yesterday.

I was originally thinking of going to a restaurant I saw in a youtube video, but it turned out to be pretty crowded, so we went to the Himalayan place next door.
Spicy friends, spicy noodles

The noodles were tasty, but very spicy, so I had to take some pre-emptive tums. Glad I brought them this time.
Next we set off for the Maritime Museum.
On the way, there was a ship in dry-dock actively and noisily being worked on

There was a boat docked outside the museum that we were hoping to tour, but it was under maintenance. Oh well, plenty of other things to look at.

The lower floor had an exposition of artifacts extracted from a shipwreck, along with a video about the history of the dig. At first, the artifacts seemed kind of underwhelming until we leaned just how difficult it was to get them out.
Underwater archaeology can be quite tricky.

Upstairs was the main museum, with lots of info about the history of fishing and sailing.

There were also a ton of model boats.

And various boat accessories

Then tour ended with several old machines / fish torture devices used in the fishing industry.

We had been walking awhile, and took some time to rest, while Jackson tried out the random hammocks.

We decided to walk along the coast for a bit, to take in the chilly ocean views.

We were originally planning to walk all the way to the tip of the city, but it ended up being a bit further than we were prepared for, and decided to get some dinner and head home.
We went to Smoss burger, which seems to be a chain of some sort.

After dinner, we waited for the bus at the nearby bus stop, while a light rain storm moved in. I tried to take a selfie, but didn't realize it was in video mode again.
