I kidnapped Jackson and Wally to drive to Microcenter to potentially buy a new phone. My Galaxy S9 still works, but is definitely showing it's age in terms of battery life and general sluggishness.
On a completely unrelated note, I am going to an anime convention with Jackson next month, and the stuff for my cosplay arrived. I am cosplaying as Porko Rosso, from the Studio Ghibli film, Porko Rosso.
After picking up Jackson and Wally, we made our way to Micro Center. At the store, they had a medium-ok selection of phones to pick, and I ended up going for the Samsung A25, which had a bit more ram than the one I was originally looking at. It had expandable storage, as well as a fingerprint scanner for unlocking when ended up being really easy to use, so my phone is a lot more secure now. It also has a headphone jack, which I didn't think I was getting.
Finally, I am going from a 9MP camera to a 50MP camera, as well as the addition of an ultra-wide and zoom lens, which should be fun to play with.
While I was working on that, Wally ended up purchasing an entire crate of the Bawls energy drink at the request of a friend. Many childish jokes were had.
After our purchases, we went to Kintaro for hotpot. Yum.
Wally talked about how he had realized he was bi, and we talked about the difficulties of broaching the topic to your parents. Wally has always had a pretty confrontational relationship with his mom, and predicted that it would probably turn into an argument, and we made a lot of jokes about how that could go.
After we got back to Wally's house, we decided to hang out and chat for a bit longer, and I went ahead and started setting up my new phone.
