While hanging out in the Love Live voice chat, I learned that Walley has made some progress with his deck-builder card game, to the point that he is able to playtest it in tabletop simulator.
While the actual game mechanics were still being fleshed out, there had been great progress on the card art, which were AI generated using a program called MidJourney.
In the past I have been pretty dismissive of the idea of AI generated art, at least in terms of it's ability to disrupt actual artists, but this case seemed like the perfect use case for this sort of thing, and Walley had gotten some pretty incredible results.

I joined him and Tyler to play a few games. I was using Tyler's deck, which was heavily focused on attack, but therefore didn't have a lot of defensive options.
For now, most of the game simply consists of a back and fourth of attacking and defending in such a way that both creatures die. Towards the end, I managed to hold out long enough that theoretically Walley would run out of cards and die, but the last card he drew was an instant damage card which was enough to kill me.
Talk about heart of the cards...
