The plan for today was to visit the Tokyo Skytree, and also the nearby Sumida Aquarium. It was just a short train ride from our home base. First however, it was time for breakfast, and we decided to stop by the nearby family restaurant Jonathans.

There was a cat robot that brought the food out. Also a drink bar with all you can drink Kiwi juice and melon soda. My cabbage and egg sandwich was light and refreshing, and the kiwi juice was basically cocaine.

It was pretty cloudy when we arrived at Oshiage (Skytree station), it was cloudy and threatening rain, so we decided to go to thew aquarium first.

Not before a quick skytree jumpscare though.

There was also a christmas market happening at the base of the skytree, which was jolly.

FEEEEEESH

Jelly friends don't like to sit still for pictures.

Friend shaped, as long as you don't look inside their beaks.

Look at these noodle boys. Tiny little lads.

Pufferfish clearly wants to be friends

These guys sure like to scream a lot

They had some cool art installations that lit up as you walked past. Also cool water noises.

These guys were absolutely zoomin'

Baby Jellyfish!

As we were leaving the aquarium, we stopped at the gift shop, and I got a pair of noodle friends to take home, though they were slightly fuzzier than their real life counterparts.

Also probably less damp.

Our earlier gamble paid off, as in the time we spent at the aquarium, the weather cleared up beautifully. Tyler, Michael, Savvio and I got in line for the Skytree while Wally and Jackson headed for the nearby Kirby Cafe. Hopefully they don't end up on on the menu.

The line was quite long, but moved quickly, and soon we were on an elevator to the top.

And the view was definitely worth it.

The Skytree had 2 decks, and the tickets we got included both, so after taking in the view from the slightly lower deck, we took another elevator to the slightly higher deck.

The view was indeed slightly higher.

What an elevating experience that was.

There was also a place with windows in the floor so you could see all the way down. It was super crowded with tourists though, and kind of underwhelming. Didn't feel like I was in any danger of falling through at all.

We made our way down to meet up with the rest. Apparently the Kirby cafe required a reservation, so they had gone to the Attack on titan cage instead. Definitely not beating the "being on the menu" allegations.

Are you brave enough to use the toilet at the Attack on Titan cafe?

Also, wild Suisei spotted. I wish I had gone to it, but I didn't have the energy.

At least there were more frogs. Also, the rest of the gang went to the pokemon store, and there was also a Pingu popup store and a Jump! store we walked around in for awhile.

After returning from Oshiage, we went to a local izakaya for dinner. I took a cab with Wally and got there first to secure seats. The place we walked into initially was kind of dingy, and the server seemed a bit perplexed what we were doing there. Also the menu was different from what we had read before, which clued us into realizing we had the wrong place.

We apologized and left, and walked a bit further and found the correct place. There, the server seemed immediately welcoming, and even tried to talk to us in broken english. We learned that her name was Akane-chan, and both her and the cook were big anime fans. They even had an artbook of Demon Slayer original sketches.

In any case, over the course of the night we basically became best friends.
