The homebrew NAS setup I was trying to use before ended up not working out. The machine had some kind of power / motherboard issue that caused it to restart when doing heavy operations. I decided to just get a commercial NAS machine from Synology instead, so I got Jackson, Wally, and Logan together for a trip to Microcenter.

Afterward a potentially life threatening conveyor belt sushi experience (Logan is allergic to peanuts and shellfish), we headed to Wally's to hang out. He also showed us his 3D printed nerf guns.

Also, cat.

In addition to a NAS, I also got a new graphics card: A Radeon RX 7700 XT. That's right, I am an AMD man now, for Linux reasons (someday).

The install for both went well, and I can say with hindsight that the Synology especially has been really cool to mess with. I have Jellyfin and Immich running as containers, and can access them remotely.
