After leaving the Grand Tetons behind, we headed for Yellowstone national park, which would be our last stop before meeting up with Jessica in Minnesota.

We did try and go to old faithful. We saw it erupt while we were stuck in the parking lot trying to find a place to park, but then after an hour of waiting, it didn't go again, and we had to get underway.

To get to Minnesota, we were planning on traveling through Bear Tooth Pass, a switchback over the mountains.

We were not quite prepared for just how windy and terrifying it was.

Along the way, we found ourselves sharing the road with several thousand motorcycles, in some kind of weird procession. We also stopped at a small lake along the way at a lake to throw snowballs at each other, while the passing bikers laughed and cheered us on.

There was a viewing platform at the highest point of the pass, with an incredible view of the surrounding mountains.

The first town we passed through after making it down the other side was completely swarmed by the bikers that had passed us before.

We carried on, and eventually arrived in Malta, where Jessica was currently living. We got to tour the dinosaur museum where she had been working, and had a meal together with her coworkers, before turning in to prepare for the long drive home the next day.
